I gave a bit of a preview of my latest project a few days ago. Basically it's an automated and online version of the Urgency vs. Importance task/time management system made popular by Steven Covey.
To review the theory behind this system, there are four basic categories that all tasks can be classified into:
- Urgent & Important - Hitting the brakes as the light turns red.
- Urgent & Not Important - Your cell phone ringing as your driving.
- Not Urgent & Important - Getting your brakes checked routinely.
- Not Urgent & Not Important - Tuning into your favorite station on the radio.
Hopefully the car example above illustrates the general classification guidelines that this system is based on. If not, you can read more about it here.
On with the goodness =)
taskd.me is my attempt to put that system online - it's still very much in a pre-alpha and I'd welcome any feedback or input about how to best develop it further. You can either create your own account or you can use the demo account:
- username = demo
- password = demo
### UPDATE - 15 June 2009###
I think I've knocked out the issue of date formatting by including a graphical calendar for date/time picking. Check it out - http://taskd.me

Really cool. Good job. Lots of potential.
I only spent a few minutes looking it over, but quick impressions:
How do I 'undo' done tasks?
Delete the help(formatting) text from inputs when typing in them.
Dates are not all validated properly. (6/31/2009,2/30/2010)
Maybe have urgency date default to due date?
Looking forward to beta! Thanks!
Silentline,
Hey, thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it!
I've been thinking that incorporating a clickable calendar would be the best way to address the date selection as it would avoid the challenge of date formatting all together.
Also, I think that setting the urgency date equal to the due date might defeat the purpose of having an urgency date. That said, having the urgency date default to (dueDate - 2 days) is a great idea, fewer clicks == good!
And you're absolutely right about the help text, consider it removed.
It's not a feature yet, but check back at the end of the day and you should be able to undo tasks that are completed by clicking on the green check even after it's been lined-through.
Thanks again!
